This was done soon after "Hayley's Sunset" and is also done with a limited palette of three colours, although different ones to the sunset. When I bought my acrylic paints, I did a series of exercises to mix every colour with every other colour plus a bit of white on the side. Now I have a thick book of colour swatches that easily allows me to choose the appropriate colours to mix for the particular artwork.
The photo that inspired this artwork was taken out near Goondiwindi. The pretty face wallaby is actually that colour in the photo, and an old-timer told me, on seeing the photo, that they had a wallaby skin that colour on the floor when he was a kid.
