One of my first acrylic paintings, it was a real learning curve on understanding acrylic paints and mediums. It was also the first time I had seriously limited my palette to just three colours. I had previously only used oils and when I started using acrylics I thought I could use them just like oils - thick and buttery. My hand wasn't sufficiently connected to my brain and it kept applying acrylics like watercolour (even though I was using very little or no medium or water). Eventually I gave up trying to work like I did in oils and just went with the flow so to speak.
